Pemuteran fishing village
One hour taxi ride from Munduk – rather scary in some places- mainly due to different spatial awareness to what I’m used to – brings me to Pemuteran in the north west, a very small village.
Everyone greets me as i walk around and I observe the many hens with their chicks – keeping them close – the baby pig which is getting ready for the next ceremony.
Amazing how much you can fit on a scooter. Sacks of rice or cloves, ladders, pushbikes, and above we have cushions.
Save the coral
They’ve made a coral reef here and there’s good snorkelling with colourful corals and many fish close to shore.
On the beach
This hatchery aims to protect turtles and raise local awareness of the need for conservation. You can find it at Reef Seen Resort.
There’s a small thing you can do towards reducing plastic bags which are a danger to turtles, Like Bye Bye plastic bags on Facebook.
